Number 12 Cider House
All great ciders begin with great apples. And most often, with a blend of those great apples. The fact is there are very few single varietals of apples (Kingston Black?) that possess all the desired qualities of excellent cider. Thus, the Number 12 blends.
Our recipes include lots of local, Minnesota-grown apple varieties, many of which are cultivated, harvested, pressed and fermented on-site at Deer Lake Orchard. The apples are chosen for their ideal levels of sweetness, aroma, acidity and tannins. Some varietals show strength for one or more of these characteristics, but it is in our blend that they all come together (cue Beatles!) for truly delicious cider. We think you'll agree!
